Turning on the lights of Spring Illuminations at The Maryland Zoo

posted 03/31/2025

We’re huge fans of the Zoo, and we think you will be, too! Spring is here, and it's time to light up the season at The Maryland Zoo with Spring Illuminations in Druid Hill Park. Let Mike Evitts share all the details about this hidden gem right in the heart of Baltimore, along with ways to visit and get involved in celebrating these amazing animals.

Nestor Aparicio and Mike Evitts talk about the Maryland Zoo’s upcoming Spring Illumination event, starting with an exclusive member preview on April 3 and opening to the public on April 4, running through the end of June. This spectacular event will showcase sculptural metal and silk art installations throughout the zoo, along with special features like a light-up dance floor and swings. The zoo is also enhancing its exhibits, including a new red panda habitat. Proceeds from events such as Brew at the Zoo help support animal conservation and habitat restoration efforts. The zoo’s long-term master plan includes the development of new animal habitats, improved concessions, and a cutting-edge parking lot designed with advanced water storage systems.
