Our Kids Read Launched First Free Diverse Children's Bookstore in Baltimore

posted 03/10/2025

Our Kids Read is thrilled to announce the opening of our very first Children’s Literacy Hub in Baltimore, MD, launching Saturday, April 26, 2025!

More than just a space to pick up free books, the Literacy Hub will also offer families the opportunity to enroll their children in our free virtual evening Reading Buddies program—a one-on-one mentorship initiative designed to support literacy and foster a love of reading. This hub represents Our Kids Read’s commitment to making sure the children who need reading support the most in Baltimore have access to the resources and encouragement they deserve.

Located at Eastpoint Mall, the store will be open Fridays through Sundays from 11 AM to 3 PM.

We’re deeply grateful to the generous support of Scholastic, the Baltimore Community Foundation, and the Petrucci Family Foundation for their grants and gifts that made this free book store possible.

If you believe in putting books directly into the hands of children in underserved communities, we invite you to make a contribution using the form below. Every gift—no matter the size—makes a difference.
