A need for fresh food, growing support for a local bedtime story, and finding the beauty in Baltimore

One of the best parts of listening to your voices is the chance it gives us to travel across the region and connect with a wide range of communities and stories.

This week, we're turning our attention to Dundalk, where a growing concern is coming into focus. The long-vacant Heritage Food Market, located in the Dundalk Village Shopping Center, is set to go up for auction soon. When WMAR-2 News reporter Cyera Williams visited the area, neighbors were clear about what they need most: better access to fresh, healthy food.

WMAR-2 News’ Ja Nai Wright introduced us to Isaac Waszkiewicz, a 7-year-old author whose book is already making waves on Amazon!

Ja Nai met up with Isaac and his dad at a bookstore in Havre de Grace, where the young writer shared his excitement about his growing success.

Christy Silverstein, co-owner of Joe's Mercantile, was more than happy to carry the book in her shop. “Anytime someone local is doing something creative, we’re all in,” she said. “And the fact that he’s a little kid—and adorable—definitely doesn’t hurt.”
